February's Flying Fast

February sure is a fast month. While we have an extra day of it this year (Leap Year), I think it would be an awesome time for me to share my favorites of this month. It is a rare opportunity to make a post on the 29th of February. Hehe... Plus, I haven't shared my current faves in a while.

First off is Burberry Eau De Parfum. Ben was very sweet and kind to give this to me on my birthday. (You can view the notes right here.) It smells amazing. I was surprised it's not as overpowering as I expected it to be. Now that's a good thing. Because of that, it's suitable for daytime or everyday wear. It's mildly sweet and sensual. Who says you can't smell sexy during the day? It's fine as long as people don't smell you from a mile away. LOL. Then again, it's cool too if you want to smell remarkable...and very noticeable. Hehe... I love how the notes include some of my favorite scents like vanilla, peach, and jasmine. The bottle I have is quite small at 1 fl. oz., so I use it very sparingly.

My next favorite has been a favorite of mine for many months now. That is ELF's Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder. I bought the compact I hit pan on last year. I'm telling you... It takes a while to finish this product. Not only did I get an awesome deal on this for $3, but you get blush AND bronzer that will last you a while. The bronzer makes a really nice contour color. Because I have fair skin, I have to lightly tap the brush on the bronzer. Otherwise, I'd look like I rubbed soil all over my face. The blush is great for my skin tone. It doesn't show up too crazy pigmented on my cheeks, yet it gives me a slight peachy flush. Some say this blush and bronzing duo is a dupe for NARS Orgasm/Laguna Blush-Bronzer Duo. If you want something pretty much in the same color family, this ELF duo is a good alternative. I don't really think the ELF blush is a spot-on dupe for Orgasm, but it's quite close. Orgasm is a bit cooler and it has shimmer. The ELF blush is a warmer, pure peach shade. Orgasm is more peachy-pink. I honestly don't know if the ELF bronzer is a spot-on dupe for Laguna. I've only swatched Laguna in the store maybe once or a couple times. I really don't remember if it would swatch quite similarly to ELF's bronzer. Dupe or not, I highly recommend ELF's Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder. It's great for travel too because it's a two-in-one product. (And yes, sorry I rambled. :P)

These Pond's Towelettes are AMAZING. I am currently using the Original All Day Clean version. What I love about these towelettes is how MOIST they are. They don't pull or tug at the face compared to some wipes I've used in the past. What I really enjoy about these towelettes is the fresh and clean feeling they leave on my face. The scent can be a downside for some people. I don't mind it though. It smells good to me. I would also recommend using a separate eye makeup remover alongside these wipes if you want to get rid of very stubborn waterproof mascara. It sounds like a hassle, but I always like EVERYTHING gone from my face before going to bed. No matter what type of wipes I use, eye makeup remover is still its best friend. Cleanser is its other best friend. Hehe...

On the fourth picture is Rich Liquid Foundation in RF 105 by Illamasqua. What makes this one of my favorite products is that I can pair this up with any foundation that is too dark for me. There are some brands that carry the lightest shade in their foundation spectrum, which is still a tad too dark for me. Especially at the drugstore where I can't really swatch anything due to not having testers for foundation. I am glad I found the RF 105 shade on the Sephora website. My darker foundation won't go to waste in the drawer anymore. After a couple small drops of RF 105 over any foundation darker than me, I end up with a perfect match for my skin. The only downside is that the formula for RF 105 is very dry. I always spritz my sponge or brush with water to help the foundation spread and blend better.

Beauty Secrets Pure Acetone made it on my current favorites list because it's very useful for me to have around. It removes nail polish quick and easy. For us who LOVE glitter nail polish to the max, it removes GLITTER nail polish quick and easy. I can't believe I'm saying this because glitter nail polish is usually a nightmare to remove. The nightmare ends with Beauty Secrets Pure Acetone. Now I can wear glitter polish all I want without dreading to remove it. LOL.

That's about it for my long ramble of favorites. I wasn't expecting to squeeze in some favorites, but I really wanted to share mine before February goes away. Hope you were able to get some ideas of what to shop for next. And as always, hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any favorites, let me know. I'll be coming to all your blogs. :D

Pretty & Cute BB Creams and Fringes

It's been a long time since I last ordered a BB cream. (The other item in the package turned out to be a BB cover or concealer. LOL.) I've been wanting more. All I have is SKIN79's Lovely Girl BB cream. I really enjoy using it. It has a light berry scent, which smells good to me. What I especially love about this product is that it feels very light on the face. It's like I have nothing on my face at all, which is a very pleasant feeling while working a longer shift at work. It brightens up my face too. Because it was my one and only BB cream, I had to use it sparingly. That's what prompted me to buy and try MORE.

I ordered a couple more BB creams from Pretty & Cute. This website is honestly my favorite place to order BB creams from because of its ample selection and fast delivery. I placed my order last Friday and received it today. I did not wait very long. :) I am so glad Donna recommended Pretty & Cute to me. :)

Other than BB creams, I ordered a red bow-shaped fringe with white polka-dots too. I was pleasantly surprised the fringe turned out to be fringes. The red one is actually a set of two. They are so adorable. They remind me of Minnie Mouse. LOL. Here's another surprise. As a free gift (for orders $39 or more), I got a THIRD fringe. It's a bow-shaped teal one with white polka-dots. Yay! I have a good stock of fringes now. Other than keeping your hair out of your face while you do makeup, fringes work well to keep your hair in place too. They seem so much easier to work with than hair clips. Fringes will keep you from getting foundation on your hair. Slight makeup accidents like that happen sometimes.

The two BB creams I ordered are SKIN79's Super + Beblesh Balm in a tube and Peripera's I Love BB Light. Along with the two BB creams I ordered, I got a free sample of Beyond the Solution BB Cream by Lioele. The sample comes in a cute sachet that reminds me of a stagecoach.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Super + Beblesh Balm, so I'm excited to try it out. Plus, how can you go wrong with a "Super +" product? LOL. I am hoping this will work out for me. As for I Love BB Light, I got it in hopes of it being a good match to my fair NC15 (according to MAC's spectrum of skin tones) skin. (For skin tones darker than mine, maybe more on the light to medium range, there's a version called I Love BB.) I test-swatched both BB creams and they match so far. It'll probably be a whole different story once I actually wear them. I will review these sometime in the near future, so you will see swatches as well as more details on each product. (You know how I love details too. Hehe... :D) Stay tuned for them. And yes, this is a promise. :)

I know I've been blogging sporadically, but there will be a few posts along the way. There will be a couple tags and three reviews. Hope you will enjoy the upcoming posts as well as today's featured haul. :)

Versatile Blogger Award

Yay for getting a Versatile Blogger Award. :D I was nominated by the beautiful and fashionable Amy-Beth. Thank you so much. :) Don't forget to check out her awesome blog as well as her YouTube channel. So cool how she makes videos on YouTube too. :D

So yes, there are only three simple rules that come with the Versatile Blogger Award. You must thank the person that nominated you with a linkback. (Paragraph above. Hehe... Thank you once again, Amy-Beth. :D) Tell seven things about yourself. Pass this on to 10 newly discovered blogs and let them know they received the award.

The award is posted somewhere on the right. :)

For this year's Valentine's Day, there is NO hot date for me. I had to go to class today and sit through a lecture. I don't dread it at all, but I am bummed about not seeing my boyfriend. I can't get him to come over here because he lives all the way in LA. To have him wait for me get out of class at 6:20 PM is so not worth the drive from LA. Oh, well... Something will make up for this empty occasion. Hopefully...

Without caring about the weather, I will still eat ice cream or any other frozen treat. People that know me think I'm nuts for eating ice cream when it's winter. It's alright with me as long as I satisfy my cravings of something sweet and cold.

When I'm typing up a paper or even a blog entry, I must have COMPLETE silence. As much as I'd like to listen to music while typing, it's not going to happen. I won't be able to get any work done. I'd probably end up forgetting about what I was originally doing.

Because I am short, I like to wear heels. The only times I'm seen wearing flats or sneakers is on rare occasions. Speaking of heels, I can handle up to 4 inches. I've tried higher, but my boyfriend felt bad for me as I hobbled along in 5-inch boots. I had to hold on to him for support even when walking through parking lots. LOL.

I watch YouTube more than I watch TV. Especially at night. We have two TVs in the house, but the TV with all the good channels from the cable box is always occupied. Whenever I have the TV to myself (on a day off from work while my son is in school), I enjoy watching "Project Runway," "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern," "Top Chef," and "House Hunters International." You can tell I'm not into housewife drama and I don't think Christine really counts as one. She's divorced.

I'm proud to say that I'm no longer addicted to games on Facebook like Farmville and Cafe World. LOL. It's been a while since I kicked my addiction, actually. Maybe, years now. Let me guess... Almost two years ago.

I know I've mentioned this a million times already. :P I'm not much of a texter. Although I do appreciate getting texts, I find it a bit obnoxious when someone tries to have a whole conversation by texting me non-stop. I'm sorry for being old-fashioned. It's so much easier and A LOT more fun to simply make a phone call. Same goes for chat. I'm not a really big fan of it either.

Yikes. I apologize for bending the rules on nominations. There are two lovely ladies I'd like to share this award with. They are Melli and Delmy. :)

Hope you all had a Happy Valentine's Day today. :)

The Disappearing Pink Eyeshadow

There was pink eyeshadow, which I used as a transition color over the crease color. Hmm... I guess it wasn't captured in the fourth photo. Oh, well... Speaking of pink eyeshadow, it was from Wet 'N' Wild's Color Icon trio in I'm Getting Sunburned. It is a rather light, shimmery pink.

On my lids, I patted a matte ivory eyeshadow color from Wet 'N' Wild's Vanity palette. My bad for not taking pictures of the products I used. For those of you familiar with the Vanity palette, it's the top left color. Vanity consists of six neutral colors. Some, if not all, of the colors can be MAC eyeshadow dupes. :)

As a crease color, I applied GOSH's 04 eyeshadow. To me, it looks like a milk chocolate brown with a satin finish. Shout out to Nancy for giving me this eyeshadow. :D

To define the outer corner of my lids, crease, and bottom lashline, I used Ulta's Bold Dust eyeshadow. It's a rich, dark brown with a satin finish as well.

I just felt like wearing makeup to school today, so I did. Not like anyone would notice, but today was just one of those days I was in the mood to put some makeup on. Normally, I don't even bother with eyeshadow when I go to school. As a student 10 years ago, I didn't even wear makeup at all. That's because I didn't know how to put on anything else but lipstick and mascara. LOL.

Speaking of school, I'll give you a quick update. It's pretty good so far. Group work is a little less scary, but I personally would rather work alone. It's easier for me. As far as papers go, I have an observation paper due a week from now. I got my introduction paper back and I'm quite thrilled I got a good score on it. Not bad for someone who's rusty at making papers. :P
